About Us

"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence therefore is not an act but a habit" – Aristotle
Since its foundation, the European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE) has aimed to encourage the exchange of clinical experience, scientific thought and investigation among European gynaecological endoscopists and practitioners in related techniques.
The activities of the Society are centred around its four main pillars

GESEA Educational Programme

The joint educational programme of the ESGE and The European Academy of Gynaecological Surgery has become a major player world-wide in minimal invasive surgical care. Through the GESEA Educational Programme, first class training and certification in minimal invasive gynaecological surgery (MIGS) is offered. This programme has received broad recognition and is to date the most advanced accreditation programme for gynaecological endoscopic surgeons.

ESGE Journal

In 2019, the ESGE purchased the scientific journal Facts, Views & Vision in ObGyn, an international peer-reviewed journal for obstetricians, gynaecologists, reproductive physicians, ethicists, basic scientists and others who treat and investigate women’s health issues. Reviews, PhD reviews and opinions that advance or illuminate science or practice related to women’s health, as well as graphic or written pieces with a visionary or opiniated dimension form its content.

Annual ESGE Congress

The ESGE Annual Congress continues to be the leading congress in field of gynaecological endoscopy. With an audience of over 1,500 medical practitioners from 80 countries, it is the event to exchange scientific knowledge and research, promote latest innovations and network with peers.

Science

The ESGE encourages research and evaluation of endoscopic and related techniques.
The development of ESGE guidelines and recommendations by the ESGE experts in related fields is based on the best available evidence (most relevant and highest level of evidence). Collaboration with national and international affiliated societies on joint scientific projects is ongoing.
ESGE Special Interest Groups and Working Groups represent the Society and actively work on new developments in their fields and the ways to evaluate and implement these developments in general clinical practice.
In its policy to offer a European Platform, the ESGE has established specific Cooperate Membership agreements with several national endoscopic societies or endoscopic divisions of gynaecological societies, joining the individual members in respect of the national identity.

Discover the YEP

The YEP, or Young Endoscopist Platform, represents a group of enthusiastic and dynamic young gynaecological surgeons. It is a fast-growing part of the ESGE structure and focuses on networking and professional development initiatives for future endoscopists.

By creating the Young Endoscopists Platform, the ESGE’s goal is to strengthen the search for new methods and practices in endoscopy, and to bring expertise and know how together. To view the current YEP members or to join, read more
